We are seeking passionate veterinary professionals to volunteer in our mobile clinic in remote Indigenous communities. Volunteers will provide essential veterinary care, support local animal health initiatives, and work closely with community members to ensure services are culturally appropriate and impactful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Veterinary Care: Deliver comprehensive veterinary services including routine check-ups, vaccinations, and surgeries for community animals.

  • Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with community members, leaders, and local organizations to ensure services meet the community's needs and are culturally respectful.

  • Educational Workshops: Conduct educational sessions on animal health, welfare, and husbandry practices tailored to the community's context and cultural practices.

  • Capacity Building: Train and mentor local community members to build their capacity in animal care.
     

Qualifications
  • Professional Credentials: Licensed veterinarian or veterinary technician, with a minimum of [X] years of clinical experience.

  • Commitment to truth and reconciliation: Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Indigenous communities.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to challenging and variable working conditions in remote areas with minimal services.

  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with community members and stakeholders effectively.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team environment.
